Digital Design and Fabrication Laboratory (DDFL)

DDFL is our recently established digital design and fabrication laboratory located in Block E of Kadir Has University Campus. The laboratory functions as a hub to respond to the technological developments happening at the beginning of the 21st century, and satisfy the need for the training of innovative designers that will arise in the last stage of the industrial revolution. In this context, DDFL will give a digital direction to the advanced studies carried out at Kadir Has University, and will be a focal point for research where industry and academy will meet and develop diverse interdisciplinary projects.
Our goal is to create a collaborative workspace where productive, innovative, dynamic and up-to-date technologies will be produced and shared. We will work on new ideas arising from technology and information exchange through industry partnerships and interdisciplinary projects.
The lab currently houses a 100x160 cm Lazer Cutter, Ender Pro 3 model 3d printers and a Scanect 3d scanner. The 30 sq meter space also houses workspace up to 10 students, equipment for model making and storage.
In order to use the lazer cutter students need to enter a request for reservation using their account under https://my.khas.edu.tr/. Choose “Eblok Lab” under options for reservation and enter a date / time. You will receive an automated email once your reservation is confirmed.
