Our next meeting in the 2021 Spring “Istanbul Talks” series, we will host Shirine Hamadeh (Koç University), Çiğdem Kafescioğlu (Boğaziçi University) and Cemal Kafadar (Harvard University).

Three historians will discuss Reşat Ekrem Koçu as historian, author, and poet. The conversation will also revolve around the Istanbul Ansiklopedisi: its structure, its inclusions and exclusions, its sources, and its connections to earlier forms and modes of writing on the city. Panelists will consider Koçu's encyclopedia project in its historical context, and its possible meanings and significance in contemporary Istanbul.

The talk will be moderated by Firuzan Melike Sümertaş from KHAS Architecture Department and will be broadcast live on KhasArch Youtube channel.
